Prevalence and Risk Factors of Helicobacter Pylori Recurrence in Egyptian Patients with Liver Cirrhosis

Background: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a worldwide gastrointestinal infection. It common risk factor for peptic ulcer disease (PUD), chronic gastritis, and stomach cancer. In patients with cirrhosis, there significant association between H. infection severity of gastropathy due to portal hypertension, upset, frequent upper bleeding as well hepatic encephalopathy. Objective: To assess the rate factors recurrence in Egyptian liver cirrhosis after successful eradication therapy. Patients methods: This study included 500 who were tested positive received proton pump inhibitors (PPI)-based treatment regimen. Successful therapy was assessed 4-8 weeks repeated over one year end using urea breath test (UBT) stool antigen (SAT). Results: The prevalence cirrhotic 58%. There significantly higher serum levels ammonia C-reactive protein (CRP) more gastritis endoscopy findings comparison pylori-negative patients. observed 22.1% pylori-positive Multivariate analysis showed that level & receiving multiple courses achieve independent patients. Conclusion: prevalent High need are recurrence.
